Parent weekly letter – Year 2
Friday 4th December 2020
Dear Parents,
Thank you for helping your child to make all of their amazing UK Landmarks. The standard this year has been absolutely amazing.
Homework
RE: We have been looking at a range of Nativity pictures in class. Please complete the attached sheet on describing a picture of the Nativity.
Maths: We have been introducing division this week by using the language of sharing into equal groups. Please support your child to complete the attached sheet.
Spelling: Please complete the attached spelling sheet using the: Look, Say, Write, and Check method. The children will be tested on these words next Wednesday. Please keep the spelling sheets at home to continue learning the spellings. These are also used to reinforce correct letter formation.
Nativity:
- Please ensure that your child has clothes for the Nativity next week. All costumes need to be brought to school in a named bag by Monday 7th December. All the children in Year 2 will be dressed as Wise men. We have made crowns in school. Please could you send in a set of brightly coloured clothes and a cloak if you have one for your child to wear in the performance.
- The children will be filmed next Thursday 10th December and costumes will be returned on the same day. Please still send the children in wearing their PE kits on this day.
Notices:
- Landmark models: Models will be coming home on Tuesday 8th December. Please send a bag in with your child if you feel this would be appropriate to help get it back home in one piece.
- High Frequency Word checks: We will be testing the children on their High Frequency Word next week. Please spend time going over the words sent home with your child before October Half Term.
