As well as the lessons, children should continue to:

  • Read for 20 minutes a day.
  • If your child has access to the Nessy spelling scheme, they should complete this 3 times a week.
  • Daily revision of Y3 and 4 words (see spelling folder or home-school book.)

DT and Computing week!

This week, in class, we will be designing, making and evaluating a stop motion picture. Many of you will be returning to school during this week therefore you need to do some research about this type of filming. Please watch these videos to discover some top tips about making stop motion pictures.

Our video will be an advert for a younger child to encourage them to make a 'Planet Protector Pledge' (make greener, more eco friendly choices.) Therefore in school we will be doing some product research to ensure we know what makes a good advert for young children. You will need to watch the three adverts below and complete the table with your thoughts and responses.

Next, you will need to do some consumer research on a younger child to find out their likes and dislikes. The first three questions have been written for you, therefore you will need to add two more questions. Bring this into school with you when you come back.

After completing your consumer and product research, you will need to investigate climate change. How does this link to the water cycle? Change in the environment? What are the dangers?

Based on your consumer research, you will need to create your stop motion picture character. Think about what the younger child wanted. Here are some models to inspire you.

Once you have your character, work through the PowerPoint below and create a story board for your advert.
