Welcome to the Year 2 Home Learning page
HAPPY NEW YEAR! We would like to say a huge thank you for our wonderful gifts and cards for Christmas. We hope you had a lovely and relaxing break over Christmas.
Due to the Government’s announcement we are not able to start 2021 and this term in the usual way. Instead of children being in school we are having to set Home Learning. You will see below all of the resources you will need for this week. The Weekly Learning Grid gives you an outline of all the activities for the week and what needs to be uploaded onto your child’s MyUSO account. Please follow the Learning Grid as much as you can. There is a PowerPoint for each day that goes through some activities in more detail. This will include some slides with information and activities to discuss and complete. Please download the resources you need. If you are unable to print any resources please complete the tasks on paper you have at home.
As before we will mark work that we have requested to be uploaded onto MyUSO. Feedback will be given by one member of the Year 2 team.
To support your child at home we will be making short weekly calls via Microsoft Teams in small groups. This is an opportunity for us to make contact with the children and see how they are and for the children to talk to each other. This will take place each Wednesday between 2pm and 3pm for both classes. Please ensure you are logged into Teams from 2pm.
One of the Year 2 team will be available via Microsoft Teams Chat every day from 9:30 – 11:30 to answer any questions you may have. On Monday and Tuesday this will be Mrs Patterson, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this will be Miss Nichols. This chat is for us to support you and your child with their Home Learning.
Reading books and your child’s handwriting book will available to collect from school on Tuesday 5th January. You will receive an email with more information. When you collect these please return any completed reading books.
Your support in continuing your child’s education in these uncertain and challenging times is much appreciated. The Remote Learning Policy can be found here: remote-learning-policy-2020.pdf (primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com). We hope to provide as much support as possible to enable you to keep your child happy, engaged and learning at home. If you have any questions please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support and stay safe,
Miss Nichols, Mrs Patterson and Mrs Renahan
