W/b 21st September - Week 4

Dear parents and carers,

This week we are continuing with our Science topic Rocks and Soils and our core text in English, ‘The Pebble in my Pocket’. In maths we will be completing our work on place value within numbers to 1000 and ordering and comparing 3-digit numbers before moving on to adding and subtracting two 2-digit numbers.

We would like the children to complete the following homework this week to be completed by next Monday (28/09/20):

  • Reading every evening and recording this in their Home School Diary.  This can be recorded by you or your child.
  • Learn 3A spelling list for spelling test on Monday 28th September – please keep all spelling sheets at home during the year.  These are also for the children to practise their handwriting on.  They should practise their spellings daily on this sheet.
  • Review and reinforce place value knowledge by playing ‘Power Play’ - see the sheet that has been sent home. This sheet has also been uploaded to the Year 3 page on the school website.  The children will need 6 counters to play this game. We will be reviewing this in class altogether so the sheet can remain at home.

Thank you for all the offers to help on our school trip, we are very appreciative. We will only be contacting the parents who will be joining us by the end of the day on Tuesday. If you do not hear from us, we hope that you will be able to join us on a future trip.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Bayman and Miss Paish - 3BP
