W/b 28th September - Week 5

Dear parents and carers,

This week we are continuing with our Science topic Rocks and Soils and our core text in English, ‘The Pebble in my Pocket’. The children will be exploring persuasive letters this week with a view to writing their own next week. In maths, we are learning how to add and subtract a one-digit number from a three-digit number. Our geography this week focuses on rivers and our learning builds on our trip to the River Crane. In RE we are looking at Ruth and how she shows selflessness and devotion to God.

We are sending out a homework folder with your child’s homework in this week.  Please do NOT cover it with sticky back plastic. Your child could decorate it with drawings or stickers if they wish.

We would like the children to complete the following homework this week to be completed by next Monday (5/10/20):

  • Reading every evening and recording this in their Home School Diary.  This can be recorded by you or your child.
  • Learn the adverb spelling list for spelling test on Monday 5th October – please RETURN this sheet to school on Monday in your child’s homework folder as it has the English homework on the back of it.
  • The English homework is the Adverbs sheet on the back of the spelling sheet.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Bayman and Miss Paish – 3BP
