Home Learning: Week beginning Monday 23rd March 2020

Update – 27.3.2020

We hope you are all well and are settling in to your home learning routines. You should have completed one grid by the end of today and we hope you enjoyed completing the activities. You should continue to work through the remaining jobs next week. Other activities you might want to complete whilst learning from home are:

  • Joe Wicks PE lessons each week day at 9am through his YouTube channel.
  • At 11am each week day David Walliams is reading some of this stories through his website https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/
  • You may have seen in the local area rainbows being stuck in windows. It is a really nice way of letting your community know you are thinking of them. Draw or paint a rainbow and put it in your window. You might want to include an uplifting message in case someone walks past.
  • All children now have free access  5-a-day Fitness. The link can be found through your MyUSO login. The username is 5-a-dayAtHome and the password is AtHome123.
  • Lee from Boundless Dance is also offering a dance class at 3pm each day through the Boundless Dance Facebook page.

Keep up all of your amazing work at home. We are missing you all so much!

Welcome to the Year 2 Home Learning page

Your support in continuing your child’s education in these uncertain and challenging times is much appreciated. We hope to provide as much support as possible to enable you to keep your child happy, engaged and learning at home.

On Friday, we have sent packs home for the children to complete while they are learning at home. Please ensure they keep the activities they complete on paper or that you sign to say an activity has been completed on the activities grid. This will ensure they are rewarded for all their hard work once we return to school.

Each Friday, a weekly letter will be posted here to communicate any specific activities for the following week. For the first two weeks, please complete activities from the pack and follow the guidelines on the top letter.

Most importantly, please read with your child on a daily basis. Read books that you have at home, sharing the reading if your child prefers.  Additionally, Audible are providing audio books for free https://stories.audible.com/start-listen.  Also, Oxford Owl (https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/) is very useful, and provides free eBooks for ages 3-11 as well as information for parents on phonics and spelling.

Thank you for your support in these challenging times.
