Lunch at School

Families are free to choose whether their children have a school meal provided by the school caterers or bring a packed lunch from home.  Arrangements for parents wishing to take up the offer of a school meal for their child are usually published in the School Newsletter half termly. Parents should also let school office staff know at the beginning of each half term if there are any changes to the meal arrangements for their child.

Packed lunches should support healthy eating and contain a minimum of a sandwich (or equivalent), a piece of fruit and a drink. No sweets or sugary or fizzy drinks should be included in packed lunches.

Please note that we are a nut-free school. No foods containing nuts or nut products are allowed on the school site.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals funded by the Government. For children in Years 3-6, parents can opt to pay school meals, currently charged at £2.60 per day.

School Meals are provided by Radish Caterers and are cooked on site from fresh ingredients every day.  Children are usually offered 3 main course options.  There is also a choice of salad options available for children to select each day.

It can be helpful, particularly with young children, if parents discuss the choices on offer every day with their children. This will help them to be prepared to make a choice that they will be happy with.

Welcome to the Summer Term 2024!
