  • Archdeacon Cambridge’s raises £2001 for 40tude during Christmas Productions

    Mon 29 Jan 2018

We are delighted to announce that Archdeacon Cambridge’s raised an incredible £2001 during the 2017 Christmas Performances.  Our School Council decided that they wished the money to be donated to a cancer charity and in memory of one of our Year 1 parents, Gavin Murray, we will be donating this collection to 40tude.   40tude are a young, innovative charitable organisation founded in 2011 who support pioneering research projects at St Mark’s Harrow – the world’s first specialist bowel disease hospital.  Thank you to the PTA for providing the festive refreshments and to all parents and visitors who donated so generously during the Christmas Performances.  Congratulations also to all children and staff who worked so hard and performed brilliantly for parents and friends.

  • Author Visit to Trafalgar School

    Mon 29 Jan 2018
On Thursday 18th January, we took our years 5 & 6 classes to Trafalgar School for a combined author visit with Christian O’Connell, Radio DJ and author of the ‘Radio Boy’ Books. Our children enjoyed listening to Mr O’Connell read sections of his latest novel and talk about his writing and career. They were also able to ask questions and many children had brought their copies of his book for him to sign.
  • Storytelling Festival

    Mon 29 Jan 2018
Last week, a team of Archdeacon Cambridge’s children took part in the annual Storytelling Festival at Trafalgar School. The children had taken part in auditions in school before Christmas and were chosen to represent Years 1 & 2, Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6. Between them told the stories of ‘Happy Harry’s Cafe’, ‘Little Beaver and the Echo’ and Tabby McTat’ and our Years 1 & 2 representative won First Place. The judges were Tony West from The Alligator’s Mouth Bookshop, Giles Abbott a professional Storyteller and a lecturer from St Mary’s University. We also enjoyed hearing the stories from the other schools taking part, as well as the stories told by professional story tellers, Ghislaine Walker and Giles Abbott during the evening. Our Archdeacon Cambridge Story Tellers also performed their pieces to the whole school during assembly. Congratulations to our team!
  • Christmas 2017 Celebrations

    Mon 08 Jan 2018

We enjoyed a busy festive season at the end of the year which began with the Christmas Fayre and Family Presents Stall organised by the PTA at the beginning of December. The halls were decorated with holly and bells, coloured in by the children, and staff, parents and children enjoyed seasonal refreshments, music, games and shopping. Our Nursery entertained their parents with their annual Sing-a-Longs and our Junior and Infant Choirs were also very busy singing both in school and to the outside community throughout December. Reception and Year 1 and Years 2 & 3 performed in some wonderful nativities re-telling the Christmas Story through singing, dance and acting. Years 4, 5 & 6 combined together for 3 performances of a fabulous musical production of ‘Scrooge’. Congratulations to children and staff involved in all the productions; their hard work was rewarded with some of the best productions we have enjoyed. During the final week of term the whole school participated in RE Day, enjoyed our Christmas Lunch wearing Christmas Jumpers, celebrated with Class Parties and finally enjoyed a performance of Rumpelstiltskin by the Globe Players in their 41st annual visit to the school.
