Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We have had a very busy week with various sporting activities and some great successes.
On Monday our Years 3 & 4 Basketball Team played in the Richmond Knights Tournament at Twickenham Academy and came 2nd. Our Year 6 Basketball Team represented the school on Tuesday in their tournament and were once again crowned Champions winning the final game against St Mary's & St Peter's with a golden basket scored by Archdeacon. Both teams played extremely well against tough opposition and should be very proud of the standard they are achieving. The Years 5 & 6 Basketball Team will play in the Champions of Champions tournament which will take place in the Summer Term.
Congratulations to the Archdeacon Cambridge's Swimming Team who competed in the Borough Swimming Heats in Richmond on Thursday. We are delighted that so many of our swimmers have qualified for the finals which will take place in March.
We have now completed all our Girls and Boys Football League matches with the Girls finishing 2nd in their league. Congratulations and thank you to all our footballers for their commitment to training and matches this year.
Admission Policy – Archdeacon Cambridge’s School
The Governing Body has agreed the proposed admission arrangements for 2020/21 and is now consulting with parents and other local admission authorities before agreeing the final Admission Policy. There are no material changes to the Admissions Policy since our last consultation.
This consultation will run for 6 weeks to 31st January 2019. If you would like to comment on the arrangements, please e mail admin@archdeaconcambridges.richmond.sch.uk or send your comments by post to Admissions Consultation, Archdeacon Cambridge’s CE Primary School, The Green, Twickenham, Middx, TW2 5TU.
A copy of the proposed policy is available under the Admissions Section of our website.
The recent snowy weather provided some great photographs of the school in winter. Here are a couple of our playgrounds and the wildlife area.
Our 3 & 5 Year groups have been busy making models linked to their topics ‘The Vikings’ and ‘The Egyptians’. In School we are enjoying the wonderful displays and seeing the amazing different ways you can construct a pyramid. We have pyramids made from lego, biscuits, sugar cubes, straws, marshmallows and even pompoms!
Archdeacon Cambridge’s are very happy with the results of our recent Ofsted Inspection and the report can be viewed by following the link from ‘Achievements & Inspection Reports’ under ‘Our School’ section.
We are delighted to announce that Archdeacon Cambridge’s raised an incredible £2001 during the 2017 Christmas Performances. Our School Council decided that they wished the money to be donated to a cancer charity and in memory of one of our Year 1 parents, Gavin Murray, we will be donating this collection to 40tude. 40tude are a young, innovative charitable organisation founded in 2011 who support pioneering research projects at St Mark’s Harrow – the world’s first specialist bowel disease hospital. Thank you to the PTA for providing the festive refreshments and to all parents and visitors who donated so generously during the Christmas Performances. Congratulations also to all children and staff who worked so hard and performed brilliantly for parents and friends.
