  • Sporting Success for Archdeacon Cambridge's

    Fri 15 Feb 2019

We have had a very busy week with various sporting activities and some great successes.

On Monday our Years 3 & 4 Basketball Team played in the Richmond Knights Tournament at Twickenham Academy and came 2nd.  Our Year 6 Basketball Team represented the school on Tuesday in their tournament and were once again crowned Champions winning the final game against St Mary's & St Peter's with a golden basket scored by Archdeacon.  Both teams played extremely well against tough opposition and should be very proud of the standard they are achieving. The Years 5 & 6 Basketball Team will play in the Champions of Champions tournament which will take place in the Summer Term.

Congratulations to the Archdeacon Cambridge's Swimming Team who competed in the Borough Swimming Heats in Richmond on Thursday.  We are delighted that so many of our swimmers have qualified for the finals which will take place in March.

We have now completed all our Girls and Boys Football League matches with the Girls finishing 2nd in their league.  Congratulations and thank you to all our footballers for their commitment to training and matches this year.

  • New Books for the Library

    Mon 28 Jan 2019
We are very pleased that we have been able to purchase some exciting, newly published books for the school library using money raised during the Autumn Term author visits and money kindly donated by parents in lieu of lost library books.  We are also looking forward to hosting the Travelling Book Fair this week in the Small Hall where parents and children can choose from a large variety of books.  Every book sold will earn rewards for the school and last year, following the fair, we were able to purchase £400 worth of books for the classroom.  Happy Reading!

  • Christmas Performance Week

    Tue 11 Dec 2018
The school is buzzing with rehearsals and performances of our three different Christmas plays which are taking place this week.  All of our children are involved in a production and their singing, acting and dancing sounds and looks amazing. All three productions have been filmed and will be available on one DVD which parents are able to purchase; there are spare copies of the order form in the School Office.  Good luck to all our performers!
  • Archdeacon Cambridge's Junior Choir perform with the Music Makers of London Chamber Choir

    Mon 10 Dec 2018
Over 30 members of the Archdeacon Cambridge's Junior Choir performed with the Music Makers of London Chamber Choir in a carol concert on Saturday evening.  Singing in the beautiful surroundings of St Michael & All Angels Church in Barnes, our choir sang a number of pieces including Goodall's 'The Lord is My Shepherd', 'Gaudete' and 'Good Enough for Him' and both choirs performed together in the final carol directed by Hilary Campbell. It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to hear and collaborate with a professional choir singing festive music from around the world. It rounded off a busy week for the choir who also sang at the Twickenham Baptist Church Christmas Lunch and for shoppers in John Lewis, Kingston.

  • Archdeacon Cambridge’s raises £2001 for 40tude during Christmas Productions

    Mon 29 Jan 2018

We are delighted to announce that Archdeacon Cambridge’s raised an incredible £2001 during the 2017 Christmas Performances.  Our School Council decided that they wished the money to be donated to a cancer charity and in memory of one of our Year 1 parents, Gavin Murray, we will be donating this collection to 40tude.   40tude are a young, innovative charitable organisation founded in 2011 who support pioneering research projects at St Mark’s Harrow – the world’s first specialist bowel disease hospital.  Thank you to the PTA for providing the festive refreshments and to all parents and visitors who donated so generously during the Christmas Performances.  Congratulations also to all children and staff who worked so hard and performed brilliantly for parents and friends.

  • Author Visit to Trafalgar School

    Mon 29 Jan 2018
On Thursday 18th January, we took our years 5 & 6 classes to Trafalgar School for a combined author visit with Christian O’Connell, Radio DJ and author of the ‘Radio Boy’ Books. Our children enjoyed listening to Mr O’Connell read sections of his latest novel and talk about his writing and career. They were also able to ask questions and many children had brought their copies of his book for him to sign.
Welcome to the Summer Term 2024!
