Week 4- 22.06.20

Friday 19th June 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Sports Week

This year, for the first time ever, we are taking part in Sports Week from home!

In addition to the usual PE and Sports activities, we have included a number of extra sporting events. Please attempt to complete at least one of these each day and upload  your best pictures from the week. (Some may require looking at in advance to prepare/ print resources.). If you have any photos you would like to contribute to the class virtual sports day powerpoint, please email these to the year group email.

English

This week we will continue with ‘The Global Garden’ the children will be writing their garden description based on their plan from last week. We have allocated two lessons for this as we would like the children to do a draft, edit and improve it. They will need to upload their garden description. The other lesson is focussing on fiction and non- fiction text.

Maths- An update has been made to the ppts for lessons 2 and 3.

This week, there is a separate PowerPoint for each of the 4 lessons. Each lesson starts with a ‘Flashback’, which is a chance to practise skills learnt from earlier on in the year. (only 5-10minutes should be spent on this section, or it could be completed at a different time if you would like to spend longer on it). The remainder of the slides focus on Time. The Pdfs for each day are the same as the Ppts, but a more printer friendly version if you are choosing to print the work out. (Remember, the lessons could be completed directly into the Ppt, on paper or whiteboards instead of printing out).

RE

Please remember to complete and upload your ‘Spirited Art’ contribution. We will be looking at entries during the week beginning 29th June, selecting the most impressive pieces from Year 3.

This week we continue to learn about Hinduism, learning about worship in the Mandir.

Please do continue to upload the work as it gives us an opportunity to see how the children are progressing. If you have not yet uploaded the PSHE from last week please do so.

Thank you,

Mr Kent, Mrs Tranter and the year 3 Team
