Spring 1 Week 1

Welcome to the Year 3 Home Learning page

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope you had a healthy and happy Christmas.

We would like to say a huge thank you for the wonderful gifts and cards we received for Christmas. We also loved the messages and videos that you emailed to us.

Due to the Government’s announcement we are not able to start 2021 back in the classroom as we would have liked. Instead the learning will once again be remote. You will see in our home learning folder, the timetable and all the resources you will need for this week. The weekly timetable gives you an outline of all the activities for the week and what needs to be uploaded onto your child’s My USO account. Then we have put the resources for each day in a folder for that day.  Please follow the timetable as much as you can. There are PowerPoints, worksheets, video clips etc. in each daily folder. Please download the resources you need. If you are unable to print any resources please complete the tasks in your child’s home learning journal. The sheets can also be struck into these. Please encourage your child to give each piece of work a date and a title, underline these, and for their work to be completed in their best handwriting.

As before we will mark work that we have requested to be uploaded onto My USO. Feedback will be given by a member of the Year 3 team.

To support your child at home we will be making short weekly calls via Microsoft Teams to the whole class.  These calls will be made to small groups by their class teacher to see how they are getting on.  It is also an opportunity for the children to talk to each other. These will take place each Wednesday between 1pm and 2.30pm for both classes. Please ensure you are logged into Teams from 1pm

One of the Year 3 team will be available via Microsoft Teams Chat every day from 9:30 – 11:30 to answer any questions you may have. This chat is for us to support you and your child with their Home Learning.

The children can communicate with each other on the J2message chat option on My USO.  This will be monitored by a member of staff periodically.

Reading books for those children still on the colour scheme books, a new home learning journal and your child’s Schofield and Simms maths book will be available to collect from school on Tuesday 5th January. You will receive an email with more information and a time to come to school.  When you collect these please return any completed reading books.

Your support in continuing your child’s education in these uncertain and challenging times is very much appreciated. The Remote Learning Policy can be found here: remote-learning-policy-2020.pdf (primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com) We hope to provide as much support as possible to enable you to keep your child happy, engaged and learning at home. If you have any questions please contact us at: year3@archdeaconcambridges.richmond.sch.uk.

Thank you for your support and stay safe,

Miss Bayman, Mr Kent and Maggie.
