Parent weekly letter – Year 2

Dear Parents,
Welcome back and thank you for your continued support. It’s been lovely to hear about all your half term adventures from the children in their writing.
Homework
English: Please work with your child to research and create a fact file for a famous UK Landmark.
Maths: This week we have been practising adding different coins in pounds and pence. First of all the children need to add the £1 and £2 coins together and write this in the £ column. Next they should add the remaining coins together and put this in the p column. Finally they should add the £ and p columns together to make the total. Children should record their sentence like this: £2 and 25p
Spelling: We are now concentrating on spelling the Common exception words for Year 2. Please complete the attached spelling sheet using the: Look, Say, Write, and Check method. The children will be tested on these words next Wednesday. Please keep the spelling sheets at home to continue learning the spellings. These are also used to reinforce correct letter formation.
Notices: Please could you send in any remaining pictures of the children in the UK. If you are unable to print the picture at home you may email it to us at: year2@archdeaconcambridges.richmond.sch.uk
Now the weather is becoming colder on the days when the children are wearing their PE kits to school please ensure that they are dressed in warm clothing.
