W/b 30th November - Week 5

Dear parents and carers,

The children all enjoyed taking part in Safer Walking last week. They all received their safer walking badge and we are very proud of them. Please help your child to put these new skills into practice with you. The children also enjoyed their visit from Tim and asked him some great questions.

This week we will be rehearsing for our Christmas Play as filming will take place on Thursday 10th December. Please can we ask that your child brings in dark coloured trousers or leggings as part of their costume in a named bag by no later than Tuesday 8th December.

Please see the Support at Home section on the school website for details of what we are learning about in class this week.

We would like the children to complete the following homework this week (due in Monday 7th December):

  • Reading every evening and recording this in their Home School Diary.  This can be recorded by you or your child.
  • This week the children will be looking at the spelling rules for ‘ch’ and ‘tch’. There is a ‘look, cover, write’ sheet and an activity sheet for your child to complete. These spellings will be tested on 7th December.
  • This week for homework we would like the children to continue to create their Roman or Celtic artefact for Roman Day. The children can create their artefact using materials of their choice (we have encouraged the children to use recyclable materials/junk modelling) and must include a museum label to name and describe their artefact. This homework is due in on Roman Day, on 7th December, however if it is finished before hand it can come to school sooner. You might like to look at the weekly letter sent out via ParentMail last week for ideas. Just a quick reminder that your child can come into school on Roman day dressed in a Roman or Celtic costume.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Bayman, Miss Paish and Mr Kent
