Year 1 Weekly Information Letter

Dear Parents and Carers,
The children have had a great week of learning. We were especially impressed with the children’s acting skills in our Traction Man lessons. The children worked well in teams and were able to perform to the class. We have continued practising songs for the Year 1 and 2 Nativity. The ever popular Monster shop made another appearance. The children were able to use their Monster points to buy well deserved rewards. Well done Year 1!
Please find some information to help support your child over the next week.
Reading
Please continue to listen to your child read every day and record this in their
Reading diary. Please remember that once your child is reading longer books, they do not need to complete the whole book in one go. We would expect the children for 5-10 minutes per day.
Homework
Thank you for completing the homework again this week. We have been very impressed with all of the children’s hard work. Please complete a further two activities from the activity grid. Homework should be handed in by Wednesday.
Nativity
We would like the children to bring in a Christmas Jumper, top or dress which is a festive colour or Christmas themed. Children will also need to bring in leggings or tracksuit bottoms, these can be plain in colour or Christmas themed. Please send this in with your child (in a named bag) no later than Thursday 2nd December. They will stay in school until we have filmed and performed our Nativity.
