Pupil Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

The Pupil Premium Grant is allocated to schools based on the number of children on the current roll who have been entitled to Free School Meals at any point during the past six years, or have been in the care of a Local Authority (‘Looked After’) continuously for more than six months.

Schools are charged with using Pupil Premium funding to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers. Children who are in receipt of the Pupil Premium Grant and are working above year group expectations are supported to ensure further challenge and opportunities extend their learning.

Aims

The school aims to employ Pupil Premium funding to ensure that children in need:

  • Receive support to be in a position of social and emotional readiness to learn
  • Receive support, from school staff and external agencies where necessary, to achieve well academically
  • Receive support to achieve good, or more than good, progress
  • Have access to extra-curricular activities
  • Receive support for the purchase of School Uniform
  • Are taught by school staff who receive ongoing CPD to support their learning.

The school provides ‘quality first’ teaching for all its pupils.

We are looking forward to celebrating Book Week and Science Week in School during March!
