Dear Parents and Carers,

This week the children have been learning about the Human Body and using our senses. The Animals including Humans topic has been very popular this year and we have been pleased with the engagement and enthusiasm from the children.

Please find some information to help support your child over the next week.

Topic

We will be learning about Traditional Tales until February half term. The children will be learning about the features of Traditional Tales and we will be reading lots of stories. “Rapunzel” by Bethan Woollvin will be the text the children will study next week.

RE

The children have been introduced to Judaism and have looked at some Jewish symbols. This week we have been learning about the importance of the Star of David and the Menorah.

Maths

Next week we will be practising counting on from a given number using a variety of strategies including number lines, fingers, counters and whiteboards. Here is a game to reinforce the learning in class.

Book share

For our Traditional Tale topic we are inviting the children to bring in their favourite Tale from home to share with the class. We will be reading Traditional Tales during story time. If your child brings in a book, please make sure it is clearly labelled with your child’s name.
