Dear Y4 Parents and Carers,

Another superb week of home learning! THANK YOU!

We have enjoyed reading the creative Tempest poems the children produced and we really appreciate all the time and effort that has gone into drafting and writing them. The children have clearly been working hard across all areas of the curriculum and it was a pleasure to get to spend so much time with them during the group sessions in the afternoons.

We have been really pleased with parent and children engagement with TT Rockstars and a few of you have raised questions regarding the set up and how the program works.  To help clarify these queries, Miss Cliffe has created a short parent video which explains how the program works and suggests how your child should be using TT Rockstars to gain the most from the platform.  We hope this helps, but if you still have questions please contact us via the Y4 group email:

This week:

  • The children will be writing a newspaper report based on the events in The Tempest.  This will be a more challenging piece, as the children have not written a news report since Y3.  However, we have tried to break up the writing into stages (as we would do in class) thinking about one paragraph or section at a time.
  • We will continue with our science topic - teeth.  As part of this the focus for our small group sessions will be performance poetry.
  • French and Music: make sure your put your name on any uploaded work so when it is shared with Ms. Dallosso or Madame Capon they know whose work they are marking.
  • Nessy:  Some children now have logins to this online program and we have timetabled suggested times for children to be accessing this.  Ideally we would like the children to do 2-3 sessions a week.

We hope that you have all have a good week and we look forward to seeing the children at Monday morning’s registration.

Best wishes,

Y4 Team
