Welcome to our Governors’ section.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.
The Governing Body of Archdeacon Cambridge’s School has a key role in the life of the School. As a voluntary aided school, members of the Governing Body are nominated or elected from a number of bodies although they are expected to act collectively for the good of the School. Associate Members of the Governing Body are appointed for a period of 12 months. All other categories of Governor are appointed for a period of 4 years.
Archdeacon Cambridge’s School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided School. This means that the Governors are responsible for the upkeep of the exterior of the school buildings and the funds for this are outside the budget funded by the Local Education Authority. The school is levied an amount per child which is payable to the London Diocesan Board for Schools maintenance scheme to help finance the ongoing maintenance. Thus parents are asked to make an annual voluntary contribution of £42 per child towards the cost of this scheme. Parents are encouraged, where possible, to make their contributions under deed of covenant as this increases the amount received by the school.
