Parents wishing to apply for a place at Archdeacon Cambridge’s School should contact the School Office by telephone in the first instance. A telephone conversation offers an opportunity to register an interest in receiving an application pack for either the Nursery or Reception class and to discuss admissions arrangements at the school.
The Headteacher operates regular tours of the school. Parents wishing to join a tour should telephone the School Office. It is most useful for parents if they visit the school between 3-6 months before they make their application.
Children’s names can be registered with the school at any time from birth and should be registered by 9th March 2018 for entry to the Nursery in September 2018. It would be helpful if parents would register their interest by the end of January 2018 although early registration is not relevant for admission purposes. Application forms will be sent out on 19th February 2018 to parents who have registered a child’s name. Application forms must be returned to the school by 9th March 2018 Letters notifying parents of the outcome of their application will be sent out by Friday 4th May 2018. The deadline for the acceptance of the offer of a Nursery place will be confirmed in the offer letter. Please use the link below to access a full copy of the admissions Policy.
Children’s names can be registered with the school at any time from birth and should be registered by 15th January 2017 for entry to the Reception Class in September 2017. It would be helpful if parents would register their interest before the end of October 2016 although early registration is not relevant for admission purposes. Applications for entry into Reception will be handled in line with the LA co-ordinated admission arrangements. All parents will be required to complete and return a Local Education Application Form to their Local Authority by 15th January 2017. A Supplementary Application Form and Clergy Form should be completed and returned to the School by 15th January 2017 for those families applying for Foundation places so that Governors can consider their application fully. Letters notifying parents of the outcome of their application will be sent out on or after 18th April 2017. The deadline for the acceptance of the offer of a school place is 3rd May 2017. Please use the link below to access a full copy of the admissions Policy.

Parents are entitled to appeal for a school place if they have been unsuccessful in their application for a place in a Reception Class. You can only lodge an appeal once you have received a letter refusing a place at your preferred school(s). To enquire about the waiting list please contact Mrs Hamerton in the School Office. The deadline for lodging a Primary Appeal in Richmond is 24th May 2017. Further information is available via:
Parents should be aware that Government legislation strictly limits the powers of appeal panels to uphold appeals at Reception and Key Stage 1 where there are already 30 children allocated to the infant class.
Arrangements for the Admission of Older children
Older children whose parents choose to send them to Archdeacon Cambridge’s School can be admitted to the school at any time providing there is a vacancy in the appropriate year group. Any waiting list, which will held until the end of the academic year, will be prioritised in the same order as the admission oversubscription criteria for the Reception Class. Children without an offer of a school place will be given priority immediately after other ‘looked after’ children. It is understood that all parents who send their children to Archdeacon Cambridge’s School will be sympathetic to the Christian character and ethos of the school.
