“Challenge and success for every child in a happy, nurturing, Christian environment.”

Congratulations

We are very proud to announce that our school was awarded the Eco-
School Green Flag status in January 2010. This represents a lot of hard work on ‘Eco’ issues by all members of the school community
including children, teachers, parents and governors. Work on recycling at the school and the development of outdoor learning areas were considered outstanding examples by The Richmond Environment Network. Monitoring of our environmental impact was considered a strength as the Eco-warriors read the meters weekly, check food waste and organise composting, the wormery and recycling. Our team of Ecowarriors were greatly praised and Archdeacon Cambridge’s School was described as "one of the most excellent Eco schools in the London area" by the assessor. The children are looking forward to growing and eating a range of produce this spring and summer. They are also planning a Wildlife Week to raise awareness of environmental issues.

Archdeacon Cambridge’s has also been awarded Highly Commended in the Green Primary School Awards of 2009 for Richmond’s Green Guardian. The Eco-warriors have written about their efforts for London Borough of Richmond gogreen website. Further information can be seen at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/gogreen/
